SplitMate ("we", "our", or "us") helps you split shared expenses with friends and groups. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

When you use SplitMate, we may collect:

• Account information: your name and email address when you create an account.
• Expense data: group names, member names, expense details, amounts, and settlement records you create in the app.
• Authentication data: credentials needed to sign you in securely (handled by our authentication provider).

We do not collect payment card numbers or process payments through SplitMate.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Provide and operate the SplitMate app
• Store and sync your groups, expenses, and balances
• Authenticate your account and keep it secure
• Respond to support requests

Data storage and third parties

SplitMate uses Google Firebase to store account and app data and to handle authentication. Firebase processes data on our behalf according to Google's privacy practices.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the app.

Data retention

We keep your account and expense data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable time, except where we are required to retain it by law.

Your rights and choices

You can:

• Update your profile information in the app
• Sign out of your account at any time
• Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data

Children

SplitMate is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
